About the artist: Barbara Nell

Barbara Nell is an artist and educator based in the Canberra–Goulburn region, whose work explores light, movement, and the human experience within urban and cultural landscapes. With over 40 years of practice in painting, drawing, and printmaking, her art reflects themes of family history, relationships, and place. Inspired by residencies in Italy and a deep engagement with both history and contemporary life, Barbara’s work celebrates humanity in diverse environments. Holding degrees in Fine Art, Education, Adult Education, and a Master of Creative Arts, she is also the founder of CREATIVE SPACE Goulburn, where she fosters creativity and connection through art.
