Bingalong Mural

The mural tells the story of the shooting death of bushranger ‘Flash’ John Gilbert by police, as told by Banjo Paterson in his poem ‘How Gilbert Died’ and run along the entire Southern wall of the The Old Produce Store in the gorgeous town of Binalong.

The work was researched, devised, designed and painted by Yvette Gilroy assisted by Janet Dawson Boddy, Dianne Hopkirk, Donna Reid, Hayley Crossing, Kate O’Connor, Charles Muscat and the people of Binalong.
Opened on May 16, 2015 at the Wild Colonial Weekend celebrations, it is situated aside the popular artisan café “The Old Produce Store” and across from Pioneer Park, making the park and mural an interesting place to visit.
