Bush fires

Bush Fires (2022) was commissioned by Goulburn Mulwaree Council and draws inspiration from Heath Nock’s experience of the 2019–20 bushfires, which came dangerously close to his Tallong property. The mural reflects both the intensity of the natural disaster and the resilience of the local community, capturing a vivid and playful energy that invites people of all ages to engage with the work.

Address: Russell Lane, Goulburn, NSW 2580

About the Artist: Heath Nock

Heath is a contemporary painter and tattoo artist whose bold, textured style is influenced by his upbringing on the Australian carnival circuit. With a showman for a father and a clown-turned-still-life painter for an uncle, Nock developed an early fascination with the bright, theatrical, and unconventional. His aesthetic blends confident lines, rich texture, and a mix of unexpected imagery drawn from both nature and popular culture. In 2022, he exhibited a new body of work at Goulburn Regional Art Gallery that combined the natural landscape of Tallong with objects and ornaments from contemporary life.
